Business & Systems Integration

Connecting systems only adds value when processes work together.

Exchanging data between ERP, eCommerce, procurement, logistics and external supply chain partners takes more than a technical connection. QL Digital helps analyse processes, clarify what needs to be connected and bring all stakeholders and delivery partners together.

What I do

Topics I work on.

  • B2B connectivity
  • Connections via API and EDI
  • eProcurement
  • Order and information flows
  • ERP integration
  • Connections with webshops
  • Project management, technical design and delivery of eCommerce for B2B and B2C
  • Process analysis
  • Project management for integrations
  • GS1, track & trace, the Digital Product Passport and the battery passport
eCommerce

Webshops and portals for B2B and B2C.

From the first design to go-live: I lead eCommerce projects and take care of the technical design and delivery. It is not just about the webshop itself, but above all about the connection with ERP, stock, pricing, orders and logistics.

B2B

Ordering portals for business customers with customer-specific prices and assortments, quick reordering and connection to the customer's purchasing systems via punch-out and eProcurement.

B2C

Consumer webshops that fit well with stock, payments, shipping and returns, so that both the customer experience and the processes behind it work.

Design, delivery and oversight

Project management, technical design and delivery: defining requirements, choosing a platform, designing integrations, directing build partners, testing and going live.

Supply chain data & compliance

GS1, track & trace and the Digital Product Passport.

Laws and regulations increasingly require products to be traceable across the entire supply chain. That affects ERP, WMS, labelling, master data and the exchange with supply chain partners all at once. I help organisations translate those requirements into processes, systems and agreements that work.

GS1 standards

Identifying products, locations and pallets unambiguously with GTIN, GLN and SSCC, barcodes and GS1 Digital Link. And recording events in the supply chain according to EPCIS.

Track & trace under EU regulations

Being able to trace where a product has been by batch, serial number and location, in line with the requirements of your sector, such as track & trace for tobacco products and UDI for medical devices. From analysis and impact to implementation in ERP and WMS.

Digital Product Passport

Preparing for the Digital Product Passport under the European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR): which product data is required, where it comes from and how to record and share it reliably.

From 18 Feb 2027

Battery passport

The first mandatory Digital Product Passport: from 18 February 2027 under the EU Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 for electric vehicle batteries, light means of transport (LMT) batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. I help with the preparation: which data is required, a unique identifier and QR code on every battery, where the data in the supply chain comes from, and how to set up systems and processes.

From practice

European implementation of track & trace at a tobacco manufacturer.

For a tobacco manufacturer, I implemented track & trace for tobacco products on a European scale, in line with the EU Tobacco Products Directive (2014/40/EU) and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/574. The system is designed to combat illicit trade: from the production line, every pack receives a unique identifier, and every movement through the supply chain is recorded and reported to an independent data repository. That experience with unique identifiers, recording every step in the chain and reporting under supervision applies directly to other traceability requirements, such as the Digital Product Passport and the battery passport.

Strategic partnership

Vurbis Partnership.

Alongside my work for QL Digital, I hold a formal partner role at Vurbis as Country Partner for the Netherlands and Belgium. In that role I work on growing the market, on customer questions and on business integration.

Frequently asked questions

Questions and answers.

What is the Digital Product Passport?

A digital passport per product, required under the European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It records, among other things, what a product is made of and how it can be repaired and recycled, and makes that data available via a QR code.

When does the battery passport become mandatory?

From 18 February 2027, under the EU Batteries Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, for electric vehicle batteries, light means of transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh.

What is GS1 and why does it matter for traceability?

GS1 provides the global standards to identify products, locations and pallets unambiguously, such as GTIN, GLN and SSCC. Without these codes, supply chain partners cannot reliably trace products.

What is the difference between EDI and API?

With EDI, companies exchange standardised messages such as orders and invoices, often in fixed batches. An API is a direct connection between systems that exchanges up-to-date data in real time. In practice they are often used side by side.

What is punch-out?

With punch-out, a buyer opens a supplier's webshop from their own purchasing system, builds a shopping cart there and sends it back to their own system for approval and ordering.
